'Montgomeryshire Folk and Fables' project

Montgomeryshire Folk and Fables

Calling all budding young actors…..

Llanfyllin-based integrated drama group, MASQUERADE, start their Spring 2010 programme with an exciting opportunity for aspiring young performers…

The newly launched ‘Montgomeryshire Folk and Fable’ project, which is funded by Arts 4 All, is inspired by myths, legends and folk tales from across the county.

The stories will be developed by local storyteller and dramatist Clive Hopwood, into short pieces to be performed as part of Masquerade’s autumn outreach programme for those with disabilities.

Masquerade is seeking new members over the age of eight, to participate in a series of fortnightly rehearsal sessions, from which they will learn new skills through storytelling, drama and performance.

The sessions run from 6.30pm – 8.45pm at Llanfyllin Youth and Community Centre on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, until July. There is a £3 charge to attend each session.

The collected stories will be dramatised, to be presented in a grand performance in Llanfyllin during the autumn.

So if you are eight or over, have an interest in the performing arts and would like to be involved in this project, simply telephone 01691 648 135 or email info@masqueradedrama.org.uk for further details.
